Joint chip makers,Nokia develops 4G technology
November 26,the famous chip maker Infineon Technologies announced a partnership with Nokia to manufacture chips for next-generation mobile networks, making it the supply of chips to Nokia’s high-end mobile phones a step forward.
Infineon said Wednesday that the collaboration is designed to Nokia’s current and future modem technologies compatible with Infineon’s transponder chip. Infineon already supplies chips to Nokia.
Infineon said that this cooperation is the fourth-generation LTE technology to produce products. This is the next step in mobile networks. The fourth-generation technology will enable wireless high-speed Internet connections possible. The first such network is expected to launch in 2011.
The mobile industry has not yet set standards for 4G networks. Some operators and developers support Sprint Nextel’s WiMax technology, and other companies advocate the LTE systems.
Canada’s Nortel Networks said before that for 80% of the world’s existing mobile phone providers, LTE is the most likely upgrade path.
